Wild West Duel — a dueling tournament to the last one standing
Each of 2 to 8 players picks a number, and duels go 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4 and so on. All duels in a round play at once on a split screen, and the winners face off again. The result is decided by a fair random draw the moment you start; the duels just play it out.
How to use Wild West Duel
In a pixel-art desert, gunslingers who picked a number duel in pairs. They stand back to back, take four paces, turn for the 3-2-1 countdown — bang! Winners face off again until one is left.
- Set 2 to 8 players, then let everyone pick a number and enter their name.
- After Start, press Draw! — the bracket appears and the first-round duels play at once on a split screen.
- Winners meet in the semifinal and final; the last gunslinger standing is the pick.
Great for
Great for choosing one winner or one person for a forfeit while everyone watches and cheers the tournament. If the player count isn’t 2, 4 or 8, a few players get a bye straight into the next round.
Is the result fair?
Whichever style you choose, the result is decided the moment you press Start, using your browser’s cryptographic random numbers (crypto.getRandomValues). Animations and surprise events only present a result that is already fixed, so throw strength or timing can never change it. When you pick several, the same item never comes up twice.
Frequently asked questions
- How are byes decided?
- When there are fewer players than bracket spots (2, 4 or 8) — like 3, 5, 6 or 7 — the empty spots become byes. Who gets a bye is random and has nothing to do with the result.
- Does my number give me an advantage?
- No. The winner is decided by a fair random draw the moment you start, and every number has the same chance to win.
- Why only up to 8 players?
- Each round’s duels play side by side on a split screen, and four duels (8 players) is the most that still reads well on one screen.
